"Guess there's a first time for everything." She smiled, taking the lid off her coffee cup and peering into it's contents. Sighing with relief that he hadn't placed her last name yet made her even more relaxed with him. "Well then Kain, you're in a category all of your own, which is fine with me."

Kain - *scratches head* I'll take that as good thing. *laughs* *downs the last of his coffee* Well, I finished my cup first soooo.... I get to have this second cup. I even drank my cup slower so you could have a chance but I am a man who enjoys my coffee. *takes the second cup* So, tell me about yourself. *relaxes in the chair*

"Well, you can have your second cup. I think one will be good enough for me today." She smiled. Kat stopped to think about it when he inquired about herself. "Well, I work the NCIS, actually I just started. I'm trained to be a profiler." She said confidently. "Born here in Washington, ended up traveling due to my father... Lived in Texas for a while." She took another sip of her coffee. "How about yourself?"

Kain - *Begins his second cup* *listens to her* ...In Texas, huh? What's it like down there? I like it up here in the north. *laughs* I recently started as an FBI agent. I've completed a number of asignments and am actually on a case now. *Pauses for a moment realizing he's talking about his own mission to find who killed his father* ...I've just been busy and am taking some time to regroup.

"Texas was nice. Learned how to ride a horse, do a little ranch work." Kat smiled. Of course, her mother never approved of her ranch work, but she was always there to help when Kat came home with a bruise or splinter. "I almost joined the FBI within the BAU, but I realized my father wouldn't have liked that too much." She wrinkled her nose. Nodding as she listened to him explain about new cases, she knew that all too well. "Regrouping is always good. I find yoga helps me when I need to do that."

Kain - oh, you know, I've never riden a horse. I always wanted to. *sips some more coffee, nearing the bottom of the cup* Why wouldn't you dad want you too? It is your life. Who knows, you could be working in my squad. *laughs* I actually go for walks. I take my ipod with me and lose almost all sense of being.

"Well, I may just have to get you into a saddle and on a horse." She smiled, finally finishing her cup of coffee. When he inquired as to why her father wouldn't want her working with the FBI, Kat flinched. She didn't want to bring up her father just yet, but it looked like she didn't have much of a choice. "My father is the Secretary of the Navy. Working for the FBI is highly frowned upon."

Kain - *grins* We'll have to sometime. *finishes his cup and sets it down on the table* .... *listens to her* *Sweatdrop*... head of the navy? *looks at her for a moment* And how long were you going to hold that information back form me?

Kat hung her head at his reaction. "I rarely tell anyone because of that reaction... Most people think it's all great and wonderful and can't stop asking questions." She sighed, slouching a little in her chair. "In all honestly it's not all it's cracked up to be. Moving around as a child, not making many friends..." She stopped herself. "Listen to me, I'm rambling... I'm sorry."

Kain - don't be sorry. I just wish you would have told me sooner. ...I've ofent wondered what it'd be like and the scenario you described is what I thought. *kicks for foot gently* Cheer up, it isn't that bad. Hey, atleast who you work for isn't the scum of the earth like the FBI is. *laughs*

"Hey, no kicking!" She chuckled, moving her leg out of the way so that he couldn't kick her. She was glad he wasn't too angry with her for keeping that from him. "Well, I normally don't tell guys who my father is because I don't want to be judged by it. I see that won't be the case with you Kain." She smiled. "Aw, no one hates the FBI. They're a good organization."

Kain - I'm not the type of guy to be quick to judge people. ...I guess you've kinda gotten that by now, huh? *shrugs* Well, The FBI, Started by hoover over 80+ years ago and I don't think we are going anywhere. *pauses* ...I see you've been judged many times because of it?

"A little too often." Kat shook her head, poking at her cup. "You are refreshing though, not judging me by my last name. Some people at NCIS think I got in there because of my father, but I got here by working my butt off." She stopped herself, realizing she was babbling again. "Well, the FBI is lucky to have you on their side."

Kain - you have to work your butt off to where you want to go. *knows what it took to get where he himself is at today* ...I can see how it can be tough being loked down upon with your dad being who he is. But you talk with your dad all the time, right?.... *smiles* thank you. I can tell how the NCIS couldn't afford to be without an agent like you.
